The Hydrodynamics Project is grounded in the international youth organization called FIRST, or For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.
Each year FIRST creates a competition around a real world issue. For the 2017 season, the real world issue was centered around water. The Hydrodynamics project focused on the Human Water Cycle.

FIRST LEGO League Tournament
We randomly selected five girls and five boys to represent our team at the FIRST LEGO League Qualifying Tournament held at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, CA. With over 400 FIRST LEGO League teams in San Diego and it being our first year of competition, we aimed to simply have a fun.

Human Water Cycle: As a class we learned about the Human Water Cycle, which is how humans use water for their homes, sustains our bodies and helps grow food. Our students created a presentation about the Human Water Cycle.​

Robotics: Our students built and programmed a robot to complete challenges on the Hydrodynamics game board pictured below.
